Wednesday 29th September see's the Party For Pakistan hitting the Islington o2 Academy in London.
The fund raising event boasts a huge line up including Plan B, Akala, Lowkey and Kayvan Novak of Fone/Facejacker fame all coming together to raise money and awareness for the floods in Pakistan which have killed 1600 people and leaving some 20 million significantly affected.
Tickets are on sale for £10 in advance, £10 for a great night and you'll be doing a great deed!
Here's the full details...
"The floods have killed 1600 people so far with the death toll expected to rise because disease will spread. Some 20 million have been significantly affected. Over 1 million homes have been destroyed. Needless to say, there are around 8 million people in the country who are relying on emergency aid. Add to this the 1.6 million acre area of crop land that has been destroyed, land which millions rely on for income, the outlook is, to say the least, very bleak.
With this in mind, we ask you to support our initiative. We aim to make a difference in the lives of just a fraction of people affected and we would like your help. The world has been slow to respond to the crisis and the media has been focusing on reasons why. It is time to forget the debate and focus on the facts.
We are planning an entertainment event in central London's o2 Islington Academy for around 1,000 people on September 29. All ticket profits will be going directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee. All artists will be performing for free. All organisers, including Curious Generation, are working voluntarily. Tickets are £10 in advance and £12.50 on the door.
"The scale of suffering in Pakistan is unfathomable. An area the size of Italy is flooded and a population equal to Australia is now homeless. The party for Pakistan aims to raise money and awareness by enlisting some of the best names in UK Music for an unforgettable event" Riz MC
"pls give me ur monies for to help for the floods...and while ur at it, bring ur bank account and sort code pls. madame Brian badonde is also looking forward to bem-cee-ing over bub-step for barite" Facejacker "
