To celebrate East London's creative spirit, Westfield Stratford City has launched Studio East, a fantastic cultural initiative to identify and support emerging talent.
Studio East will aim to grant the next generation of creative innovators access to their industry's leading lights, and award a series of high profile commissions which will be embedded in the actual fabric of Westfield Stratford City, the gateway to London's Olympic Park.
Each member of the Studio East Cultural Committee will be responsible for shortlisting talent and mentoring the shortlisted creatives through the final processes.
Roland Mouret, internationally acclaimed Fashion Designer will be shortlisting talent to design the uniforms for Westfield Stratford City's concierge staff.
Renowned British artist Tracey Emin will be shortlisting talent for what will become an iconic art comission that will utilise Westfield Stratford City as it's canvas.
British Designer Tom Dixon will be handling the commission for Pendant Lighting which will help create a striking environment and play an integral part in the Westfield Stratford City shopping experience.
Super model and environmental campaigner, Erin O'Connor, will be shortlisting talent for a commission which will celebrate the environmental credentials of Westfield Stratford City by developing Energy Saving solutions for the development.
Westfield's vision is to foster a cultural community where talent will collaborate with brands, cultural institutions and Westfield Stratford City's customers to produce constantly inspiring creative products and experiences and that is definitely something we can get involved in!
It will be really exciting to see how this develops before the opening of Westfield Stratford City next year. You can keep yourself updated at Westfield's Stratford City Website.
