Selfridges launch Bright Young Things Interactive Events

Selfridges today launch the latest part of their 'Bright Young Things' initiative, live and uniquely interactive events to coincide with London Fashion Week.

Selfridges buying and creative teams scoured the UK to find the the most creative and exciting new names from the worlds of fashion and art.

The Bright Young Things are 25 outstanding creators including several fashion and accessories designers, jewellers, milliners, set and prop designers, one illustrator and an art collective.

Along with the already open pop-up shops Selfridges will be holding a series of events where the Bright Young Things will produce work live on the shop floor and inspire you with their creations.

The events are open to the public and work on a first come, first served basis so make sure you get down there early.

Monday 14 February (6-8pm)
Knitwear designer Craig Lawrence, who has previously worked with avant-garde designer Gareth Pugh will host a knitting workshop. Join Craig for the chance to add knitting and weaving techniques to your fashion repertoire.

Tuesday 15 February (5-8pm)
Alex Noble, the designer behind the headline grabbing bodysuit that Lady Gaga wore to the Brit Awards 2010, will be creating a fashion sculpture on 3rd Central. Come and take a peek into the mind of one of the UK's hottest new fashion talents.

Wednesday 16 February (6-8pm)
Head to the Third Floor for the chance to meet fashion designer Simone Rocha who showcased her spring/ summer 2011 collection with Fashion East. The daughter of designer John Rocha, Simone describes her designs as "modern and strong yet romantic."

Thursday 17 February (6-8pm)
London-based illustrator Sophie Stephens is the woman behind Henry Holland’s cheeky t-shirt collection, which featured fashion icons from Daphne Guinness to Karl Lagerfeld in the nude. She’ll host a life drawing class where you too can brush up on your artistic skills.

Friday 18 February (4-6pm)
Join Jessica Dance, who specialises in creating handcrafted sets, props and accessories for an afternoon of tea, cake and an introduction to the world of set design.

Saturday 19 February (2-4pm)
Jeweller Little Glass Clementine collects treasures and precious gems and uses them to weave a narrative through her intricate, whimsical designs. She will demonstrate how to break and make junk and jewellery to create sustainable statement pieces.

Sunday 20 February  (2-4pm)
Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham’s shared love of patterns led them to found unique brand Patternity. Believing they can find beauty in everyday life, from the mundane to the magnificent, they will show you how to appreciate patterns in the world around you.
