This Is England 90 greenlit

It's recently been confirmed that Shane Meadows will be making 'This Is England 90', the follow up to 'This Is England 86' and the original 'This Is England' film.

Both the previous features have been amazing and we're already excited about what might be in store for Shaun, Woody and the gang in 1990. Assuming of course that they will still be featuring in the production.

As with '86' we figure the action will be loosely based around the the weeks of the football World Cup, Italia 90.  The same World Cup where Gazza famously cried and we lost to West Germany in the semi-finals.

On a brighter side, and something that will hopefully be touched on during 'This Is England 90', is England's official World Cup song from 1990, New Order - World In Motion...

Hopefully the gang will be looking like bigger versions of Kevin from Home Alone, the second highest grossing film of 1990, while watching exciting new shows on TV like One Foot in the Grave, Mr Bean and Masterchef (Lloyd Grossman format).

We'll be sure to keep everyone updated on this, in the meantime I'll leave you with the top 3 best selling songs of 1990... It would be easy to see 'This Is England 90' as a mash up of these three songs.
