Jay-Z 'The Hits Collection: Volume 1'

We found Jay-Z's new 'The Hits Collection: Volume 1' amongst the junk mail this morning and obviously put it straight on repeat...

I feel totally ashamed to admit I only just realised that 'The Hits Collection: Volume 1' slipped through the postal filter and into the junk pile.

Since realising this massive error said album has been playing around the building and needless to say, heads are currently nodding along to 'I Just Wanna Love U'.

The infectious selection of songs for this album will not surprise many but I must say I'm a little disappointed that some of Jigga's earlier classics have been looked over for what are probably the more recent, more commercially successful hits, of course, as the man himself says "want my old shit, buy my old album" (On To The Next One (also not featured on this collection)).

Although missing some hits the album is a solid journey of Jay's more radio friendly hits.

Jay-Z, 'The Hits Collection: Volume 1' is available now.  The deluxe version featuring additional tracks is released 22nd November.

Here's some of the songs we feel Jay-Z should have included and we hope to see them on Volume 2...

Dead Presidents from the album Reasonable Doubt (1996)

Can I Live from the album Reasonable Doubt (1996)

Do It Again (Put Your Hands Up) (feat. Amil & Beanie Sigel) from the album Volume 3... The Life and Times of S. Carter (1999)

This Can't Be Life (feat. Beanie Sigel & Scarface) from the album The Dynasty: Roc La Familia (2000)

Takeover from the album The Blueprint (2001)

Girls, Girls, Girls from the album The Blueprint (2001)

On To The Next One (feat. Swizz Beatz) from the Blueprint 3 (2009)
