The London Design Festival is a platform for all design disciplines, bringing together creatives and artists with over 200 events and installations around the city, and we can't wait! Running from 18th-26th September, these nine days will showcase work in major international exhibitions, trade events, installations, product launches, private views and parties. Below is our pick of the nine day schedule:
18th-26th September - V&A
London's V&A Museum will play host to a dramatic installation by Stuart Haygarth. "Framed" uses portions of picture frames to create a landscape through which visitors can walk. A must see, evocative piece that will transform your usual museum experience.
18th-26th September - Anti Design Festival
Masterminded to coincide with London Design Festival by veteran graphic designer Neville Brody, following his confrontational appearance on News Night opposing graphically appealing data-visualisation, his Anti Design Festival aims to expose design processes and practices and showcase top art, film and fine art innovators... if Brody says so.
18th-26th September - Acne at Liberty
Our favourite Swedish brand at our favourite London department store? Acne at Liberty may just be a dream collaboration come true! Acne's distorted sofas of the season will receive the Liberty print treatment, upholstered in bespoke fabrics by Kvadrat. Acne's reinterpreted furniture will be showcased courtesy of Liberty and Acne's Creative Director Johnny Johannson. Lounging's never looked so appealing!
Lamb's Conduit Street's hidden gem concept store Darkroom will present an installation of innovative upholstery fabrics for a new collection of cushioned home accessories by Innofa and Frank, with all pieces available to buy too. Darkroom's expert magnetism for unusual aesthetics and hard to find accessory ranges haven't yet failed to impress. Inspiration expected!
22nd-26th September - Lee Broom - One Light Only
Award-winning designer Lee Broom will illuminate London Design Festival with the launch of his new collection "One Light Only". Inspired by Art Deco jewellery and 70s fashion photography his collection will no doubt turn a Shoreditch gallery into a beacon for the nine day festival. Literally, unmissable!
23rd-26th September - Tokyobike Tours
Uber-cool bike specialists Tokyobike are set to run a series of guided tours across London. Celebrating the London Design Festival, daily tours will offer city cycle enthusiasts and the creative community the chance to test drive their bikes. Style over substance? Find out for yourself!
