Last week Original Penguin held a party in London to celebrate their 55th anniversary and Nextnoize.com went along to help them.
We joined other young and beautiful people at the Bathhouse near Liverpool Street celebrate Original Penguin's anniversary.
Made famous by some of the most iconic American figures in the twentieth century, from Clint Eastwood to Frank Sinatra, the '55' polo that started it all fast became a staple part of global pop culture. To celebrate these much famed numbers, and totally fittingly, it's 55th birthday, Original Penguin decided to have a big old-fashioned knees up, and it was a good'un.
With the Kaiser Chiefs and others in attendance the crowd got going to Phil Clifton of MTV Rocks opening the musical delights from behind the decks. The dancing started soon after with a little help from Sailor Jerry, Smirnoff and Tiger Beer. More entertainment came through the night from The Strange Boys and The Big Pink closing proceedings with banger after banger, before leaving the crowd to stumble out across the City. You only turn 55 once and we were glad to share it with you Original Penguin.
Check out some more photos from the night below.
