Mothership Group, Central Illustration Agency and Pirates to open Clerkenwell's newest most innovative bar, Pop Up Pirate!
London’s Mothership Group, the capital’s most forward thinking bar group, the masterminds behind The Book Club and the Queen of Hoxton, have joined forces with the
artist management platform Central Illustration Agency and Pirates to create Clerkenwell’s, and perhaps London’s, very first Pop-Up-Bar-as-Art-Installation project. Exciting!
Opening this Thursday 20th May, the bar will be open for three months. Pop-Up Pirates will be part late-night bar, part art-installation and all totally unique... we've seen a lot of work in progress, now we just can't wait to see the final pop-up product!
The project takes inspiration from the venue’s history, the site was an old factory building specializing in silver lithography. Vinyl lettering will adorn mirrors, toilets totally transformed into a blackboard for messages, and free standing cut perspex letters, large scale right down to small scale letterforms, which will be a full takeover by the Pirates and nothing will be spared.
An obscure and ambitious project, Pop Up Pirate's bar in Clerkenwell will certainly be worth visiting- all we know for sure is- expect the unexpected!
