Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren have teamed up with Teenage Cancer Trust in an artistic endeavour to raise awareness for their cause.
Last January, Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren commissioned over 50 of Europes most exciting young contemporary artists to customise stars made from their finest American denim. With the iconic Stars and Stripes flag for inspiration, each artist was tasked with creating something totally unique. The only limit was their imaginations...
Above is our one of our favourite stars, customised by Barcelona street artists Zosen. Hailing form Argentina, his philosophy of aesthetic stems from his love of chaotic, urban environments and as well as Latin American art and symbols.
From France, artist Alexone has lent his trademark Edward Lear-esque characters in his paintings and murals to his denim star, and to fantastic, detailed effect.
Another commission from Spain, Anton Unai has a more unpredictable approach not too dissimilar from a Pollock. His spontaneous mixed media fashion has produced this beautiful paint splattered star and has been exhibited at three Art Star exhibitions already!
We're most pleased to see London's very own über-prolific graphic designer Kate Moross as the most recent addition to exhibit an Art Star. Featuring her signature geometric patterns it's just popped up in Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren's concession in London's Selfridges.
Having already exhibited selected commissions around Europe, the stars will be travelling to Europe's largest and most well respected sport and street trade fair Bread & Butter Berlin with all the Art Stars created will culminate in a public exhibition in London and auctioned for Teenage Cancer Trust.
